Hi there! I’m Jack, and I read and write.

I write poetry, essays, and short stories (let me slide in your email inbox with my Substack here). I also write research papers — on things like shifts in the French political landscape, governance and political integration in the European Union, and the French colonial influence on urbanism in Algiers, Algeria. (I promise I’m not the pretentious Frenchman I’m sounding like)

I read a bunch too! I’ve been tracking my books since 2015, and I’m at 296. The day I hit 300 I’ll… probably just keep reading.

I also spend many guilt-free and shameless primal hours on Reddit and Youtube watching Arsenal goal highlights in compilations with heavy trap beats, dramatic slo-mo, and weirdly-placed lens flares (here's an excellent sample for your enjoyment).

Finalement, estoy tratando de aprender Español, c’est un peu difficile mais j’avance bien et j'aime bien le défi. If I'm not doing one of the above things, I’m usually trying to improve myself, like with my coffee ritual. So when you contact me, feel free to ask how to improve your coffee game, I got you.
